ASIP Public Affairs Working Group

Effective January 1, 2010, ASIP formed the Public Affairs Working Group. Areas of active interest to the ASIP Public Affairs Working Group are listed below.

• Human Subjects Research Protections
• NIH Appropriations
• Translational Research

Other areas of active interest to the ASIP Public Affairs Working Group include gene patent law, health information technology as it applies to the research enterprise, creating a physician-scientist track for Pathology Board certification, reduction in NIH's graduate education funding, Open Access and open government initiatives, HIPPA policy impact on research, and issues related to biorepository and biosecurity regulation.
