The ASIP Summer Research Opportunity Program in Pathology was designed to provide summer research opportunities in pathology for underrepresented minority students by providing financial support for students to visit, learn, and participate in new research in the mechanisms of disease at prominent research laboratories and institutions during the summer.
The program provides for students to travel to a laboratory away from your home institution to participate in research with an established scientist. After a summer engaging in hands-on laboratory work, you will have the opportunity to present about your experience at the Experimental Biology Meeting, an annual multidisciplinary meeting of nearly 13,000 scientists and exhibitors.
FASEB MARC provides the Student with:
Travel & living allowance to cover airfare, ground transportation, meals, lodging/housing and related expenses incurred during the student's Summer Research program.
Travel support to submit and present an abstract at the Experimental Biology Meeting.
Maximum allowance provided: $1,650
ASIP provides the Student with:
In addition to funding FASEB MARC provides to supplement and/or cover travel and subsistence, students that select a pathology mentor will receive an additional stipend of $2,500 at the end of the summer after submitting required documentation.
